You Are Never “Too Old” to Do Anything.

I think that it’s super dumb that people feel pressured with sticking with a career they chose in their 20s. The odds that you chose the “right one” is stacked against you. Also what even is the “right one” anyway?

I am only 25 and I feel like every few months I completely transform into a new person. I couldn’t imagine staying the same, in the same place, or the same career for very long. I genuinely don’t understand how anyone could stay at the same job for 20 years.

Maybe I’m just too young to get it, but I will never accept a job that doesn’t make me happy just to pay the bills. I know I can be a dreamer, but why would I live any other way? I don’t know if the dream career exists but I do know that all you have is now and you should live in it.

If you don’t like something about your life change it. I think people get so caught up in status and proving yourself and showing off to others. Especially with social media we’re constantly only getting the highlight reel and not reality.

Changing careers and changing your life can be stressful but staying in something that makes you unhappy just isn’t worth it. You also don’t have to have your whole life together in your 20s. I have big plans of living about a thousand different lives before I decided to stay in one place. I don’t think people realize that they’re gonna be here a while. Life is long, you have time.

It’s easy to get caught up in this rat race but slow the down. Figure out what you really want and be a little selfish. It’s crazy what you’ll accomplish when you find out that you were the one holding yourself back all along. You’re doing just fine and nothing is as big a deal as we think it is. You’re never going down the wrong path even if you think you are. Everything happens the way it’s supposed to happen. You’re doing great friend. Just keep looking out for you. You’ll be fine. Pinky promise.
