Astrology is an ancient and complex practice. It can be difficult to master due to the many nuanced parts that all move and influence each other. I’ve found that what’s best for me to learn, is just do a little bit at a time.

The sun sign is the most basic part of your chart. If you’re completely new to astrology, it’s a good place to start before moving into the houses and aspects.

I’ve decided to use Medium as a sort of “open journal” of all the things I’ve learned and loved about Astrology, and plan on adding a whole series to my page in the coming weeks. So if you’re interested in Astrology, stay tuned.

Sun Series: Cancer ♋︎ (June 22nd — July 22nd)

Cancer is the fourth sign in the zodiac belt. It is a feminine sign and their symbol is the crab.

Cancer is a water sign. The other water signs are Pisces and Scorpio. Cancer is ruled by the moon, they love to look at the moon and are extremely affected by the moon’s phases. They are also extremely sensitive and emotional although they get a bad reputation for being “cry-babies.” This just means that their emotions are extremely intense. When you’re happy, you’re really really happy, when you’re sad you’re really really sad. They have an emotional depth that reaches much further than anyone else and they act on it. They make life decisions based on emotion and are very led by emotions all throughout life. They have an inner emotional roller coaster and because of the constant up and down they can come across as moody.

Cancers just like Pisces and Scorpio have intuitiveness. These signs are most prone to psychic abilities. They are connected to the other side more easily. They may dream things that come true, they may talk about something and then it happens. They are prone to experience more coincidences and deja vu more frequently. They are also very intune with other people’s emotions. It’s not the easiest sign to be because they are constantly picking up other people’s feelings. They think about everyone else and how other people are feeling.
